LitFest was thrilled to be a part of the Subsequent Fall on October 12, an annual celebration by Guru Digital Arts College which brings together individuals and organizations from many arts disciplines, business and the tech sector to see what sorts of crazy collisions of creativity happen. LitFest was paired together with clothing designer Kathleen Todoruk of Todoruk Designs.
Two of LitFest 2012's featured authors have been shortlisted for the $60,000 Hilary Weston prize for excellence in non-fiction.
As a finalist, JJ Lee, author of Measure of a Man: The Story of a Father, a Son and a Suit (McClelland and Stewart) and Candace Savage, author of Geography of Blood: Unearthing Memory from a Prairie Landscape (Greystone Books/David Suzuki Foundation) will each win $5000.
Tuesday's annoucement was made in Toronto by Hilary Weston, the sponsor of the prize.
